Tuesday's Assignment

Welcome back! This week, we turn our attention from short-term to long-term things. As somebody once said, "You're not ready to live until you're ready to die." What could they have meant?

Whatever you think about it, and even if you don't, certain things will catch up on you.

Here are your tasks:


1.Listening & Vocab: Our Aging Society

2.Role play: Planning for Retirement

• Social Security=any government system that provides monetary assistance to people 

with an inadequate or no income.

• savings=the money one has saved, especially through a bank or official scheme.

• Retirement=The action or fact of leaving one's job and ceasing to work.

Wednesday's Assignment

Have you ever been invited to a company function? It could be a BBQ, a picnic, a Dinner and Dance, a gala, or a potluck.

Have you ever invited anybody to one?

Here are your tasks:

1. Check out some examples of invitations, and share two favourites with a partner, giving reasons.
2. Write a formal invitation for a group function (such as a company picnic, BBQ, or potluck).
1. Have two partners check your writing.
2. Add a nice picture that enhances your invitation.

I chose this picture because I love BBQ.

Wow I liked the image of watermelon, because its appearance refreshing and delicious, especially

 when friends meet on hot days.
