Projecting a professional image on the job

Task 1:

In order for us to come across as professionals, we need to project this mage. Click on this link for the Dos and the Don’ts. Write one sentence on each Do and Don’t you have read about.

Do dress to impress - your image matters

Personal hygiene and elegance to create a professional you for personal wonderful,  simple clothes that are in line with the times and not overdoing Put make-up and accessories must choose the appropriate clothing with events.

Do sharpen your social skills

It must be a bold person calm when he talk For his skills. Must be friendly and simply not up to his colleagues thought he was snobbish

Do get a mentor or sponsor

You should choose a  mentor or sponsor a highly qualified and has the patience, credibility and abide by Dates and respect your thoughts and taking into account your goals.

Do build your personal brand - stand out with distinction

To build a successful business brand The person must have an active and respected and helps the team and has a strong personality 
and at the same time be friendly and has the confidence of everyone. 

Do grow and nurture your network

The social media has a role in the presentation of professional image of good ideas to put forward a policy work and listen to the ideas and comments colleagues.

Do be likeable - adopt a positive attitude

 We must act with respect and literature assistant and his team, and to provide advice and likes teamwork and Shiism and telling some jokes to be comfortable working atmosphere


Don't

Do not overlook the unwritten rules

Do not lose sight of the business rules in order to gain the confidence of the other and keep your job.


Do not be inflexible

Compatibility between the roles and responsibilities and thus their employees to be more flexible and able to adapt to change. It is natural to resist change, so we are working hard to open up to accept the new duties and show interest in learning new skills and information.


Do not misrepresent yourself

This includes the qualifications, experience and references on your resume as well as the content of your conversations This builds respect among colleagues and help to create a strong professional image.  

Do not shirk responsibility or point fingers

Taking responsibility for your actions and don't blame others you will get the confidence of all.

Task 3:

Compare the reading and the video together; write down the similarities and the differences between them. Ask two of your peers on their findings and again compare them to yours.

Second, find out the meaning of the underlined words and use each one in a sentence.

A: So, we’ll be seeing you at this Friday’s cocktail party?

B: Oh, I didn’t tell you.We cancelled.

A: That’s a surprise. How come?

B: We didn’t know earlier, but the Jameses are going.

snobbish=I don't like dealing with a person snobbish because he makes me nervous.
I don't like this guy he's a snob.


keep up appearances=My sister in law always keep up appearances.

Nouveau riche=John became one of the Nouveau riche so he lacking in good taste.
FOBs=My friend ones of fobs who emigrated to Canada in recent times.

integrated=I need more information to Mark Project integrated.
                        Some people need help to become more socially integrated.



elitists=My father was an elite business leaders.

hypocrites=I think that the person is mentally ill hypocrite.

This week, we will try to know ourselves better to be able to decide our career goals and our next steps in Canada.

Task 1:

About me: Write a short autobiography about yourself.
Express what your first language is, you former country, professional background, things that you like or dislike to do, your hobbies, and why you need to learn English.



My name is Sally, I'm from Iraq, But I lived in Syria. I'm Kurdish, My first language is Arabic. I can speak Kurdish and little English. I have been in Canada more than  5 years. 
I am a mother of two sons. My hobby is cooking, reading history books, especially ancient civilizations and writing poetry.
My favorite Authors Agatha Christie, Victor Hugo, and Ernest Hemingway.
I would like to improve my English, Read, write and speak fluently, To Communicate with the community and learn about their customs and traditions, The most important thing for me Communicate with my children if they need to my help, Recognize new friends, and start reading books in English.
I don't have any experience for job, because I'm never work before.

Were not stingy with advice and tender, listen to me with respect and valued my situation never get angry because I had not completed my duties or when I came in late. When I sent you an email to inform you not to come because  I'm  sick or if I have an appointment you send me the answer with all the kindness and respect and wishes  me to be fine Joseph  you are great man, Thank you sense kind fulfill the will I remember always giggle and joke, especially the coffee I wanted to stay in class, because I feel at ease and joy.
